Whilst studying mathematics at the University of Ioannina, Thanasis Pantes first made contact with the stunning and endless beauty of the Pindos mountain chain. Thanasis decided to turn his main profession into trekking after experiencing the taste for the activity. With his experience of the Vikos Canyon, the Voidomatis River, and other places along with the hospitality, smiles and taste for the people who live in the areas, his decision was made for him. |

the intervening years, Thanasis expanded his areas and started trekking
in other regions around Greece that were untouched by mass-tourism.
He chose the stunning Pelion peninsula to be based, and also made
close contact with the imposing mountains of Meteora and Olympus along
the way. Through his experiences with these unique and naturally beautiful
areas of Greece, Thanasis came to the conclusion that paradise does
exist, and it begins somewhere in Greece. After over 10 years of experience and trekking around Greece, Thanasis started his "Trekking Holidays in Greece" company. Situated in the city of Volos near Mount Pelion, Thanasis is heavily involved in Alternative Forms of Tourism, and the philosophy of his company is to "Show the Authentic Face of Greece". |
